Pressure Cooked Dahl

Description
Dahl is a great side dish that can be served with rice, curries, spinach, or fried fish.Ingredients

Makes
10 cups
- 13 cloves of garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 3-5 wri wri pepper (Optional)
- 11/2 c washed dahl
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp ground geera
- 1/8 tsp tumeric
- 12 cups water
Methods/steps
- Grind the garlic, onion & pepper and set aside
- heat oil on medium high
- add onion, garlic and pepper to the oil and fry for 1 min
- reduce heat to medium-low
- add drained dahl, curry powder, jeera, tumeric, black pepper and continue stirring for 2 - 3 mins
- Add water, increase heat and bring to a boil
- pressure cook for 20 mins on medium -high heat
