Description

This sweet treat takes some time and patience to make, but it is worth the effort.

Ingredients

Dessert/ Sweets
Makes
30-36 (depending on size)

4 cups 3% (homogenized) milk

2 3/4 white sugar

*optional: 10 peanuts (crushed)

Methods/steps

1. Pour milk into a large pot or kahari and bring to a boil (high heat)

2. Add the sugar and bring again to a boil. Stir constantly (very important). Keep the temperature  on high.

3. After about 40 minutes, the mixture should be at a rolling boil.  Continue stirring and it should start thickening at this point.

4. Lower the heat to med-hi and continue stirring until the consistency is fairly thick and boiled down (approx 15 min)

5. Turn the heat off and continue stirring. Add the peanuts and let mixture cool slightly.

5. Shape  into small balls and flatten with your fingers or use the back of a spoon. If the mixture starts to harden in the pot, add a sprinke of water to soften it.

You can also pour the mixture into a greased pan and cut into squares, once it is completely cooled.
