Sponge cake

Description

This is one of the best sponge cakes you have ever tasted.

Ingredients

At a glance

  • 1 1/4 lb All-purpose flour
  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 1/4 lb White sugar
  • 8 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk

Methods/steps

  1.  Cream butter and sugar using a mixer.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time.
  3.  Add essence.
  4. Mix in flour and milk alternately. (start and end with flour). Do not over mix.
  5. Pour mixture in a 12x9 inch greased baking pan.
  6.  Bake in oven at 350 deg F for approx. 1 hour.

Additional Tips

Use middle rack of oven for best results.
