FRIED RIPE PLANTAIN

Ingredients

At a glance

Side Dish

 2 Large ripe plantains (skin should yellow with black freckles)

¼ cup Smart Balance Omega Oil or Olive Oil

A pinch of salt

1/8 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional) (Do this so that plantain will not go brown)

Methods/steps

  1. Peel and cut plant in 2 halves
  2. Take one half of plantain and slice in 3 pieces, lengthwise
  3.  In a heated frying pan, add oil
  4.  Fry plantain on low heat, both sides should be brown in colour
  5.  Drain on paper towel
  6.  Serve warm
